“Patience and technique are the two essential components of macro photography. I favour the Micro-Nikkor 200mm for all my outdoor macro work. Occassionally I reach for the classic 55mm, especially for studio work or if I’m using extension tubes, adapters or bellows systems. Lighting is also key and for this I frequently rely on a modified Nikon R1C1 configuration or the inspirational Adaptalux system.
