“I am a published author under my own name: Mark Giles. In November 2019 my first novel, Paradoxical, was published by my then publisher Vanguard Press. Paradoxical is the first novel in the Teenage Time Traveller series. A second edition was published in December 2024 at the same time I published the second part, titled Pandemonium. The third and final part of this trilogy, Panjandrums, was published on 1st December 2025.

A collection of short stories and flash fiction titled, Life, the Universe, and Every Cliché In-Between was published in December 2024.

Well, maybe you were.
Take a moment to think back. Have you ever felt that time has marched on, leaving you behind? Or have you physically lost time? Maybe a journey that you’ve made when you cannot recall how you got to your destination. I don’t mean simply daydreaming, we all do that. What I’m talking about is different, but if you have experienced this, you’ll know what I mean.
How about déjà vu? Experiencing what feels like the same event in time not just once, but many times over.
Or maybe you’ve experienced a moment in time that seems to last far longer than any self-respecting second hand should linger?

If you’ve experienced anything like this, then, maybe, just maybe, you’re like me.

Hi, I’m Dave Pendragon. And I’m a time traveller…

Discovering that your whole existence is fabricated to help a future scientist save the world would be enough to give anyone a headache; but I have my own agenda. With the ability to travel back and save my father I unwittingly start a journey of predestined events that will end in disaster, begin with death, and start somewhere in the middle with a baby. All so I can save the world from its ultimate destruction – so no pressure really. And if that wasn’t enough, I find myself being pursued by a clandestine CIA project led by a rather sweaty, irritating man who’s only one bacon sandwich short of a stroke; along with his younger, fitter, and slightly more psychotic agent, Smith, they make my life hell as I try to follow a path put in place years before I was born.
With lots of coffee and a few good friends, I set out to meet my destiny, screw up big time and then settle for the life I was meant to live.
Born out of a paradox in spacetime, I am the Teenage Time Traveller.

With rumours, half-truths, misunderstanding and outright lies peddled across social media, those who know the truth don’t necessarily have the loudest voice.

Do the inhabitants of this scarred planet join the Verve and start an era of peace and harmony, and heal the planet? Or do they decide to continue on the path of self-determination, and ultimately self-extinction?

It’s not a difficult dilemma, and yet they decide to hold a referendum!
